Seriously..its unbelievable. I cant believe I haven't had a single quite moment. I mean I have had quiet moments here & there but mentally - nothing was quiet. I have been having these cravings. Craving to sit back on my chair, put my feet up and feel the heat of the battery on my lap and type away to glory.
I think I have come to start getting comfortable in my skin - again. After almost 2 years of being here in the USA, I now feel like I pretty much know the surroundings such that I don't feel the need to explore anymore. Besides Stamford is small town to explore but still needed time to get accustomed to the American way of doing things. :)
But Dubai I miss. I miss it like crazy. Besides my parents, sister, cousins & friends being there - that being one of the BIGGEST reason, I still have my set memories attached there. Let me try and list down the things that immediately comes to my mind:
1. The view from my home in Karama
2. Priviledge of 4pm - 8pm naps on Thursday half days
3. Sand storms - makes Dubai look so warm and cloudy and cozy
4. Mutter Gotaala on the Dubai - Al-Ain highway
5. The evening walks at the Zabeel Park
6. Fatafeet Cafe by the creek which has now closed down :(
7. Quick lunches at Kamat with my parents during work hours
8. The long waits for a bus or cabs which I did not like :)
9. Impromptu sheesha plans with friends or my fav cousinssss
10. The samosas and mazaa treats from the persian bakery in BurDubai (it had to be Chand's idea - she loved it)
11. Chats in the car with Loveeta after college
12. OMG...SP Jain - those days....:)
13. The sat bhangra nights at copa cabana (but was only for 1 year when I moved to DXB after coll)
14. The navratri nights at Al Aweer - oh my goodness...cant forget the image of all last benchers almost sleeping off in class
What fun it is to walk down the memory lane. Changes in life builds unforgettable memories.
